Paste or type your Pinterest post to see how many characters you have used out of 500, and how many are left.
0 / 500
500 characters remaining
The count is by code points, the same as fanout uses before publishing. Pinterest's own counter may differ slightly. Details are in the character limits guide.
Pinterest is entirely image-first, and fanout builds each pin around the picture you upload rather than treating the caption as the main event. Upload an image and write a description up to 500 characters, then schedule it to go live at the time you set; fanout publishes the pin to the board connected to that Pinterest account. Analytics on saves and impressions are included on every fanout plan. A comments inbox for Pinterest isn't available yet, since Pinterest doesn't expose one the way other networks do.
Schedule posts to Pinterest · Count against all 15 networks
Write one draft, publish to every network. Card required, cancel anytime, no charge during the trial.
fanout enforces 500 characters per Pinterest post, counted as Unicode code points. A post can carry up to 4 images, and it needs an image to publish.
Yes. A simple emoji is one code point, so it counts as one here. Emoji built from several parts (skin tones, flags, family emoji) are several code points and count as several. Pinterest may weight characters differently, so leave a little room if you are close to the cap.
fanout flags the post as too long for Pinterest before it publishes, so nothing is cut off silently. Shorten it, or write a shorter version for Pinterest and keep the long one for the other networks.
It is the count fanout uses when it checks a post, based on Pinterest's documented limit as of 2026-10-25. Networks change limits and count some characters differently, so treat a post within a few characters of the cap as unconfirmed until Pinterest accepts it.
