Tips

The count is by code points, the same as fanout uses before publishing. TikTok's own counter may differ slightly. Details are in the character limits guide.

Posting to TikTok with other networks

TikTok is a video-only network, and fanout schedules your uploads without asking you to open the app and post manually. Upload your video, write the caption and cover choice, and pick a publish time; fanout handles the rest through TikTok's own posting API. Analytics on views, likes and shares are included on every fanout plan, right alongside your other connected networks. A comments inbox isn't available for TikTok yet.

Frequently asked questions

What is the TikTok character limit?

fanout enforces 2,200 characters per TikTok post, counted as Unicode code points. A post can carry up to 4 images, and it needs a video to publish.

Do emojis count toward the TikTok limit?

Yes. A simple emoji is one code point, so it counts as one here. Emoji built from several parts (skin tones, flags, family emoji) are several code points and count as several. TikTok may weight characters differently, so leave a little room if you are close to the cap.

What happens if my TikTok post is too long?

fanout flags the post as too long for TikTok before it publishes, so nothing is cut off silently. Shorten it, or write a shorter version for TikTok and keep the long one for the other networks.

Is this the same count TikTok uses?

It is the count fanout uses when it checks a post, based on TikTok's documented limit as of 2026-10-25. Networks change limits and count some characters differently, so treat a post within a few characters of the cap as unconfirmed until TikTok accepts it.
