How to see social media analytics across networks in one place

Checking each network's own dashboard is slow, and the numbers rarely line up. fanout has one Analytics page that pulls results from the networks that report them.

Which networks have analytics

Analytics in fanout are available for X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Facebook and Pinterest. The other networks (LinkedIn, Bluesky, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Google Business Profile and Slack) show no analytics yet. You can still publish to them, but their results will not appear on the Analytics page.

The numbers come from the networks, so what you see depends on what each one reports. Metrics a network does not report may be missing or hidden.

The Overview

The Overview tab shows a board of widgets. By default it starts with Impressions, Engagement rate, Followers and Posts published, followed by charts: Performance over time, By network, Engagement, Best time to post, Top posts and Fastest-growing accounts.

Along the top you can pick a range of 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or 12 months, turn on a comparison with the previous period, filter to one network, and filter to one profile. Your choices are remembered in your browser.

When you filter by profile, the totals, charts and top posts still cover all profiles. Followers and growth follow the selected profile.

Customize the board

Press Customize to rearrange the board. You can drag a widget to reorder it, or move it earlier or later with the arrows, resize it, and hide it. Add widget brings back hidden ones and adds extra tiles that are off by default: Reach, Likes, Comments, Shares and Interactions per post. Reset puts the board back to the default.

The layout is saved in the browser you used. That means it stays the same when you return on that device, but it is not shared with teammates or other devices.

Analytics for a single post

Click a post in the Top posts widget to open its sheet. It shows the post's numbers (for example impressions, reach, likes, comments, shares and engagement, where the network provides them), how impressions grew day by day since publishing, and a table by network and account. A link opens the post on the network.

When there is enough history, the sheet also compares the post with your average impressions and engagement rate. For video posts it adds video statistics, and some networks add audience detail such as where views came from. Only what the network reports is shown.

Posts published outside fanout

The Import post button lets you paste the link of a post that was not published through fanout, on one of your connected accounts. Its numbers can take a few minutes to appear. If the post is older than the range you are viewing, widen the range to see it.

Export

Export CSV downloads the posts in the current view with their date, network, text, link, impressions, likes, comments, shares and engagement rate, so you can work with them in a spreadsheet.
