Postiz is an open-source scheduler you can self-host or use as a hosted service. People look for alternatives for different reasons: they do not want to run a server, they want a free plan, or they need a different set of networks. This list covers hosted tools and one self-hosted option, with each tool's own pricing page as the source. We make fanout, so it is first, and we say where Postiz is the better pick.
Postiz is open source (AGPL-3.0, per its GitHub README) and its docs say a self-hosted install has no plans or limits. If you want to run the software on your own server, or you want the longest list of channels, it is a strong choice, and fanout does not offer either.
Postiz Cloud is priced from $29/month for 5 channels, with a 7-day trial and no free tier (postiz.com/pricing, October 2026). Its pricing page lists the MCP server, the API and analytics on every plan.
fanout is hosted only: $29/month for 5 accounts, 5 on Starter, 15 on Marketer, 50 on Operator, with a 3-day free trial. You write one draft and fanout adapts it for each of 15 networks.
Comments inbox on X (Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, Threads and Bluesky; analytics on X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Facebook and Pinterest. Every plan includes everything. There is no self-hosting, no team seats, no first-comment scheduling and no import from other tools.
Other tools in this list also offer an MCP server, so that is not unique to fanout.

The page says accounts, workspaces and users are unlimited, and lists the API, MCP and webhooks on Pro. Self-hosting needs PHP 8.3+, MySQL, Redis and a web server, installed with Docker or Composer. Mixpost Cloud is also offered, with a free trial; its prices are not shown on that page.

Card required, cancel anytime, no charge during the trial.
It depends on what you want to change. For a hosted tool with nothing to run, fanout, Buffer and Publer are options; for another self-hosted tool, Mixpost. Compare price at your account count and the networks you post to.

Mixpost, which sells self-hosted licenses (a free Lite tier and paid Pro and Enterprise) per its pricing page, checked October 2026.
No. fanout has no import from other tools. Connect your accounts through each network's login and recreate scheduled posts in the composer.
